Hi! I'm Ally!

The ladyship behind La Ceramic.

I chose the name for its feminine, musical and frivolous connotations. La la la!

Although now everyone thinks I'm either French or from LA. Oops!

I MAKE THINGS!

Tortillas and cakes and ceramics.

I grow lemons & lavender & sage.

I'm a circeau aerien.

I've lived in the tropics, the mountains, the city and the woods.

Now I live by a foggy beach,

and I have freckles like my favorite clay.

With regards to ceramics,

I make functional wares that are textural and weighty

that reflect the raw, natural beauty of stone and sand.

I take inspiration from the beach - ocean, lake and river,

where I've always gathered with my sister folk,

draped over lumpy, sun-warmed pebbles, boulders and sand,

doing absolutely nothing, together

I hope the pottery I make recalls something similar for you.

Purity, simplicity, warmth, earthiness, innocence, timelessness,

and your own moments spent out there, licking rocks, worshiping the dirt,

worshipping your sisters and the beach
